Steven founded Finstead Capital in 2020 on a simple conviction: Australian businesses deserve better support and more choice when accessing finance. He leads the firm's strategy and lender relationships, and works closely with clients, vendors and advisers to structure outcomes across asset finance, working capital, commercial property, project funding and acquisitions. Before Finstead he held senior business development roles at Valiant Finance and Stratton Finance, and has built and run businesses across multiple sectors. His focus is relationships first, transactions second.

Joel partners with Australian SMEs to manage their full finance needs across the business life cycle. He arranges funding spanning asset and equipment finance, working capital, business acquisitions, trade and debtor funding, and commercial property and development. He works closely with accountants, brokers and advisers, giving their clients access to Finstead's lender panel without the legwork of approaching lenders one by one. Joel has spent over a decade in commercial finance, including senior roles at Valiant Finance and Stratton Finance before joining Finstead in 2020.

Asset and equipment finance, SME lending, complex structured deals

Connor is a commercial finance specialist with more than seven years across asset finance, working capital, acquisition funding and SME lending. He originates and structures complex transactions end to end, from financial assessment and credit submission through to settlement and ongoing relationship management. He has built strong referral networks with accountants, advisers, mortgage brokers and equipment vendors, focused on long-term value for clients and partners alike. Connor joined Finstead in 2020 after roles at Valiant Finance and Stratton Finance, and holds a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking.

SME lending, asset and working capital finance, mortgage and lending background

Anthony brings deep lending experience to Finstead's commercial finance team, having joined in 2021. He works with SMEs across asset finance, working capital, commercial property and general business lending, drawing on a career that spans both commercial and residential finance. Before Finstead he was a Product Specialist at Valiant Finance, a Mobile Lending Manager at St.George Bank, and a mortgage broker at Lendi, alongside earlier settlement and quality-analyst roles at major banks. That breadth gives him a strong grasp of how lenders assess and approve deals. Anthony speaks English and Croatian.

Operations, client experience, settlement coordination

Kiara keeps Finstead running. As Operations Manager she coordinates the moving parts of every deal, from enquiry through to settlement, so clients get a clean and timely experience. Based in Adelaide, she joined Finstead in 2023, bringing an operational and organisational discipline from prior roles in education and marketing. She is the connective tissue between clients, brokers and lenders.
